Planning a trip to a Spanish-speaking country? Have some basic Spanish under your belt but feeling rusty?

 This crash course for travelers (or those dreaming of travel) will get you ready for your trip in the fastest way possible.

Eating in restaurants, shopping in markets, asking directions, navigating public transportation, as well as meeting people and making new friends… are all part of the travel experience. 

The class will get you understanding and speaking Spanish with ease. With our Comprehensible-Input based approach to language teaching, you will feel like you are “absorbing” the language like a young child and soon will find that you are speaking Spanish effortlessly. The class focusses on the most frequently used words in the Spanish language and draws upon 100s of words that are similar or the same in both languages. Recommended for students who are already comfortable in basic conversation and are ready to take it up a notch!

Join us for Saturday and Sunday only or add a 3rd day and stay for Monday!

Schedule:
Saturday, December 7th: 10am-3pm 
Sunday,December 8th: 10am-3pm
Monday, December 9th: 10am-3pm (optional, but highly recommended!)

(lunch break around 12:30-1:30. BYO or go out to local restaurant.)

Price:
Saturday and Sunday:  $245
Saturdy, Sunday, and Monday: $360 (take all three days for maximum benefit!)
One-day only: $135 (We HIGHLY recommend doing at least two days… but sometimes schedules do not allow this.)

All course materials (no hidden fees)
Follow-up readings and audio recordings
Coffee, tea, light snacks

We are right next to the Latchis Hotel. Express Fluency weekend course participants receive a special rate. Contact the Latchis directly- 802-254-6300. We are also a block away from the train station, so it is possible to come by train and not need a car.

About the Instructor

Founder, Director, and Spanish Instructor

Elissa holds a master’s degree in education from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Education and is a licensed Pre-K–12 Spanish teacher in the state of Vermont.

She began teaching Spanish in 1998 and has since worked with students ranging in age from 2 to 85. Her travels throughout Latin America inspired her both to learn and to teach Spanish. Prior to founding Express Fluency (formerly Escuelita Spanish School) in 2009, she served as curriculum director on the founding teams of two innovative high schools (The Shackleton School and Watershed School) where she developed Spanish immersion and travel programs for students. She led high school students on expeditions to study border issues in the United States and Mexico for six years and has led Express Fluency trips to Ecuador, Costa Rica, and Spain. She has taught students in grades K-12 in public and independent schools. In 2013 she lived in Costa Rica, teaching Spanish in a high school semester program.

Elissa is trained in Comprehensible Input (CI) methods.

She brings to Express Fluency her passion for travel and cultural exchange as well as her firm belief that anyone can acquire another language—even those who think they can’t.
