Description
Art & Conversation: Where Beauty Speaks and We Answer in French
(Intermediate/Advanced)
Instructor:
Alice Ayel
For intermediate-advanced learners
In this gathering, we feed upon both: the beauty of masterpieces and the living work of expressing what they awaken in us—all in French.
The Journey We Take Together
This is not a lecture where you sit passively while information is poured into you. Rather, it is an encounter—you, the artwork, and the French language meeting in a space of genuine contemplation and conversation.
Each week unfolds as a natural progression:
- The Observation — We stand before a masterpiece. First, silence. Then, gentle guidance. You describe what you see, attending to line, color, composition—the concrete realities before your eyes. Here, vocabulary grows naturally as you name what is present.
- The Resonance — What does this work stir in you? What emotions rise? What memories surface? We share our impressions and feelings, discovering that beauty speaks differently to each soul, and yet connects us all. The language of emotion becomes your language.
- The Dialogue — From observation and feeling, we move to thought. Rich, meaningful conversation emerges: about the artist’s vision, the historical moment, the universal human experience captured on canvas. You find yourself expressing complex ideas freely, thinking in French because the idea demands it.
What This Work Cultivates
